About the Association

The Floating Home Association of BC (FHA) represents the interests of the British Columbia floating home sector and its residents. Established as a nonprofit in 1990, the FHA serves as the voice and support network for the floating home lifestyle. Through meetings, newsletters, and a comprehensive website, the association offers valuable resources, information, and networking opportunities for those interested in living on the water.
Elected by the membership, the board of directors consists of volunteers who represent both floating home residents and marina owners. The association is funded through membership fees, and its directors work tirelessly to advocate for members by liaising with government agencies on relevant issues and legislation that affect floating homes, while also promoting the lifestyle to the professional agencies and the general public.
The mission of the FHA is to protect, preserve, and promote the vitality of the BC floating home lifestyle through education, advocacy, and collaboration.
